Costner, who has played the iconic character John Dutton, shared his decision in a video message, stating, “Hi everyone. I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on ‘Horizon’ and doing all the things that’s required, and thinking about ‘Yellowstone,’ that beloved series that I love, that I know you love, I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue Season 5b or into the future.”
The actor expressed his deep affection for the show and its fans, acknowledging the impact it has had on him personally. “It was something that really changed me. I loved it, and I know you loved it,” he continued. “I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning, and I love the relationship we’ve been able to develop, and I’ll see you at the movies.”
Costner’s departure marks the end of an era for “Yellowstone,” as his portrayal of the rugged Montana rancher has been central to the series’ success. The show’s future now hangs in the balance as fans eagerly await to see how the storyline will adapt to his absence.
As Costner moves on to new projects, including his film “Horizon,” his contribution to “Yellowstone” will undoubtedly be remembered fondly by viewers who have followed the Dutton family’s dramatic journey.

costner is a hot mess.
Who cares. Costner is just another left-wing tard, who thinks playing fantasy roles somehow gives him actual legitimacy.
If Kevin isn’t returning then I will not be watching the final season. The others are good but Kevin’s character was the glue that held the program together. Oh well, that is that. Goid luck Kevin!
Who cares
First of all, Kevin is an actor. An actor needs one thing to act. Material. When they run out of it your finished. Many big shows have run into this. Game of Thrones was one and the Expanse also comes to mind.
