George Strait, the legendary “king of country music,” has once again proven his reign, this time as the “king of concerts.”

Strait shattered records with his epic performance at Kyle Field at Texas A&M in College Station over the weekend, drawing a massive crowd of 110,905 fans – a number that no one has touched since the Grateful Dead’s heyday nearly half a century ago.

The iconic country singer surpassed the Dead’s 1977 attendance record at New Jersey’s Raceway Park by selling almost 4,000 more tickets, as reported by Billboard [4].

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Strait, visibly moved, declared, “We got some Aggie’s out there? Oh yeah! I’m ashamed to say this, but this is my first time to ever be in Kyle Field… damn. Just invite me back, I’ll come!”

Prior to the record-breaking show, Strait took to X (formerly Twitter) to remind his fans to show up early and stay hydrated, promising them a night to remember.

Even Texas Gov. Greg Abbott couldn’t resist the allure of George Strait’s historic night, sharing his awe on X, “Unbelievable concert by the King, George Strait. Largest packed house for a concert in America. Ever.”

Meanwhile, Sen. Ted Cruz shared his experience attending the event with his daughter Caroline, praising it as “great fun” and a “spectacular concert.”

The country music luminary also debuted two new songs, “MIA in MIA” and “The Little Things,” from his forthcoming album, “Cowboys and Dreamers,” much to the delight of his dedicated fans.

Special guests Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman added to the excitement of the night as they joined the king of country music on stage at Kyle Field.

With a career marked by unmatched success, George Strait boasts the most No. 1 singles across all music genres, a streak of top 10 hits for 30 consecutive years, and the most No. 1 albums in country music history.

Having sold over 120 million records globally, the accolades don’t stop there for Strait, who is regarded as one of the best-selling music artists in history. His enduring legacy includes a catalogue of 13 multiplatinum and 38 gold albums, with his ‘92 classic “Pure Country” achieving a six times platinum status.

George Strait’s incredible journey in music continues to captivate audiences and etch his name in the annals of country music history.
