Hillary Clinton, known more for her 2016 election loss than anything else, made a surprise cameo at the 2024 Tony Awards with all the grace and humility you’d expect.

Clinton, greeted by enthusiastic applause and a smattering of standing ovations, became the center of attention at New York City’s Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater. The former Secretary of State and First Lady, who now produces a Broadway show called Suffs about women’s suffrage, couldn’t resist poking fun at her own electoral catastrophe.
Is this really how I found out that Hillary Clinton was executive producer of a musical about suffragettes called Suffs lmao. This is a 30 Rock bit pic.twitter.com/2ziHPgJsNP [3]

“I have stood on a lot of stages, but this is very special,” Clinton shared with a strange mixture of self-reflection and misplaced pride. “I know a little bit about how hard it is to make change.” Very few in the crowd laughed at Clinton’s joke about her defeat to Donald Trump in 2016.
Clinton, displaying her famous flair for self-promotion, took the opportunity to remind the audience about the importance of voting in the upcoming 2024 presidential race between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Because, of course, who better to lecture about elections than the woman who managed to lose one to a reality TV star?
Unsurprisingly, not everyone was impressed by Clinton’s presence at the Tony Awards. Social media buzzed with scathing commentary, with one individual comparing her appearance to the cringe-worthy antics of Robert De Niro.
Democrats were like, “how do I do something more cringe than Robert DeNiro?”

Other critics roasted Hillary for her fashion sense, equating her mumu to your grandmother’s tacky sofa.
How many tacky sofas had to die to make Hillary Clinton her mumu for the Tony Awards? pic.twitter.com/Cwamn2VZPd [7]
