ROCHESTER, NY — Early Sunday morning saw a violent incident in downtown Rochester's Martin Luther King Jr. Park, where multiple people were shot.

Initial reports confirm that at least five individuals were injured and taken to the hospital, with some victims reportedly requiring surgery. Fortunately, no deaths have been reported at this time, although the crime scene remains active with a significant police presence.

Officers from various agencies, including New York state troopers, arrived at the scene around 2:40 a.m. ET. Law enforcement has since shut down a large section of downtown Rochester to conduct their investigation.

Witnesses state that a large group had gathered at MLK Park for a party, with gunfire erupting sometime after their arrival.
