Famous actor, Hollywood icon and Democrat donor George Clooney recently expressed his displeasure with President Joe Biden, even going so far as calling the White House to complain.

The issue stems from Biden’s criticism of the International Criminal Court’s decision to seek an arrest warrant for Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Clooney’s wife, Amal, is involved with the ICC.

The ICC has aimed to charge Hamas leaders, identified as terrorists, as well as Israeli leaders like Netanyahu with war crimes and crimes against humanity. President Biden strongly condemned this move, stating, “The ICC prosecutor’s application for arrest warrants against Israeli leaders is outrageous. And let me be clear: whatever this prosecutor might imply, there is no equivalence — none — between Israel and Hamas. We will always stand with Israel against threats to its security.”

Biden’s statement was actually, and shockingly, somewhat on point, but it pissed Clooney off who went right into helicopter parent mode. Or, in this case helicopter spouse mode? Let’s just roll with that.

Clooney’s anger and entitlement as a significant Democrat donor led him to calling the White House.  He was specifically concerned about the ICC losing funding over potential sanctions, which would of course affect Amal’s work.

The drama all occurs before Clooney is set to attend a high-profile fundraiser for Biden in Los Angeles. It will be interesting to see the dynamics between Clooney and Biden at the event.
