Fetterman, who was dressed in a suit and tie instead of his usual casual attire, read “Bang gavel” before realizing his mistake, laughing, and then proceeding to hit the gavel, as seen in the CSPAN recording.

This incident was reminiscent of Joe Biden's teleprompter mistake in April when he appeared to read an action directive during a campaign speech. Fetterman's slip-up was a light-hearted moment as he closed the session.
