In an unexpected twist, an off-duty Hamilton County deputy returned to his home early Sunday morning only to find an intruder inside. The deputy, facing a confrontation with the break-in suspect, Darryl Williams, 26, shot him once in the leg. Williams managed to flee but was soon apprehended and charged with aggravated burglary, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio.
The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Keith Drive, stated Kyla Woods, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office. The neighborhood saw a significant police presence until Williams was caught. Police utilized K-9 units and drones in their search, and it was reported that Williams had called someone nearby, aiding officers in tracking him down.
