Cincinnati, OH - A Cincinnati Reds fan's enthusiasm got the better of him as he invaded the Great American Ballpark field on Tuesday night. The fan, identified by police as 19-year-old William Hendon, attempted to perform a backflip in front of a police officer and was met with the swift arm of the law. Hendon received an electric shock from a Taser shortly after and was promptly arrested.

The incident was caught on tape and swiftly shared on social media platforms. According to jail records, Hendon now faces a felony criminal trespass charge and a misdemeanor obstructing official business charge and was booked into Hamilton County Jail in Ohio.

According to law enforcement officials familiar with the case, the complaint against Hendon details that he "did knowingly run onto the Reds playing field during the game without permission to do so." Another document, based on eyewitness accounts, accused the insurgent fan of impeding an officer's lawful duties by trying to run from the officer who was following him.

Here's What They're Not Telling You About Your Retirement

Hendon is expected to make his first court appearance on Wednesday morning.

While the incident got the cops involved and hogged the spotlight for a bit, the Cincinnati Reds found themselves upstaged by the Cleveland Guardians who emerged victorious with a 5-3 win. The Guardians were led by Josh Naylor, who hit his 17th home run of the season, and Steven Kwan, who added two more runs for the American League Central-leading team. Tyler Freeman put in a solid defensive game, keeping the Reds' scoring to a minimum through two incredible plays.

"It’s kind of the way we had the game set up," Reds Manager Bell said after the game. "Everyone did their job. We came up short, but a pretty good effort right there by everyone out of the bullpen." This wasn't enough to change the fact that the Reds had lost the game in the end.
