Skyworth’s founder, Huang Hongsheng, caused a stir at the Beijing Auto Show with his outlandish claims about the EV6, the brand’s new electric SUV. Hongsheng boldly declared that the EV6 can cure diabetes, high blood pressure, and even extend the driver’s lifespan by 30 years. These extraordinary assertions were quickly met with skepticism, and the company backpedaled, stating that his comments about promoting deep sleep were misunderstood.
The EV6, produced by Skyworth Auto since 2021, is available in select overseas markets. However, it has not garnered the same global attention as some other Chinese electric vehicles. During the Beijing Auto Show, Huang Hongsheng spoke about the vehicle’s supposed healing properties, claiming that it can relieve high blood pressure, enhance immunity, and alleviate habitual diarrhea. He even went so far as to assert that driving the EV6 cured his own health issues, including high blood pressure and diabetes.
Notably, the founder failed to provide any evidence to substantiate these extraordinary claims. Despite his assertion of the car’s miraculous healing properties, Hongsheng did express his belief that spending his lunch break in the EV6 promotes deep sleep.

Once news of the founder’s controversial statements spread widely in Chinese media, Skyworth issued a response, asserting that his comments were misconstrued. The company suggested that he meant to emphasize the EV6’s ability to promote deep sleep and hinted at its potential to aid in the treatment of various health issues.
Nevertheless, even the company’s official website makes bold claims about the EV6’s “Active sleep-promoting technology,” asserting its ability to improve sub-health status and enhance deep sleep quality. The website also mentions an “ergonomic zero-gravity chair” designed to alleviate insomnia and significantly enhance sleep quality, as well as real-time monitoring of health indicators such as blood pressure and heart rate.
Despite these extraordinary claims, the EV6 appears to be a standard electric SUV, featuring various battery options and claiming a range of up to 385 miles (620 km). While the founder’s assertions have generated significant attention, skepticism remains regarding the validity of his claims surrounding the EV6’s alleged healing properties.

Covered wagon, Medicine Show
Take you to a place where the healing flows, oh-ho
Weak in spirit we got the juice
Won’t save your soul it’ll shine your shoes, oh
Treated king to kangaroo
Santa Fe to Timbuktu, oh-ho
Don’t be fooled by imitation
This is the stuff that cured a nation
We took the tube and the high plains too
Never stopped long just passing through
A drop of the laughter of the maids of France
Makes a hopeless cripple dance, oh
It was really vile weather
When we got tarred and feathered
You could hear the six-guns sound
As they chased us out of town
Whoa-ho…
I suppose a hard anal reaming probably would clear out the passages.
He’s Joe Isuzu’s illegitimate son.
This dude is Chinas version of the snake oil salesman. Bad enough they already have that traditional Chinese medicine quackery.
