On a weekend where the PGA Tour's Traveler's Championship and an LIV event in Nashville have competed for fan attention, the PGA nabbed themselves a victory with the play of Cameron Young.
On Saturday Young became the 12th golfer to shoot a sub-60 round on the PGA TOUR and the first in nearly four years. Young dominated the par-70 TPC River Highlands course in Round 3 of the 2024 Travelers Championship, scoring a remarkable 59. He began Moving Day at the Travelers in T43 and ended the round tied for the lead at -13 with Tom Kim, who had yet to start his third round.

The Wake Forest alum shot a 28 on the front nine and a 31 on the back nine. He went five-under in his first four holes, which included a hole-out eagle from 142 yards on the second hole. This was the first of Young’s two eagles in Round 3. His "59 watch" officially began with his second eagle at Hole No. 15.
Young drove the ball 280 yards onto the green of the short par-4 and sank a four-foot-two eagle putt. Despite this, he left some opportunities on the course. Following his eagle on 15, Young's 173-yard tee shot over water on the 16th hole set up a 7-foot-four birdie putt, which he left just inches short.

The drama intensified as Young still needed a birdie to achieve a sub-60 round. He quickly secured the necessary birdie on the next hole, a 425-yard par-4. However, a missed fairway on Hole No. 18 led to his third missed green-in-regulation of the round. Young managed to get "up and down" for par, concluding his third round with a 59.
