Browns WR Amari Cooper Missing from Mandatory Minicamp

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper did not attend the start of mandatory minicamp, according to multiple reports.

The veteran receiver, who is entering the final year of his contract, had an impressive 2023 season. With several receivers around the league securing contract extensions, there is speculation that Cooper’s absence might be related to his own contract situation.

Earlier this offseason, Browns GM Andrew Berry indicated that Cooper’s contract could be revisited after the draft, but no developments have been reported so far.

If Cooper’s absence is unexcused, he could face fines exceeding $100,000 for missing all three days of the minicamp.

The Browns acquired Cooper and a sixth-round pick in a trade with Dallas, which received a fifth and sixth-round pick in return.
