Another "random" slashing.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯A man in his 20s was slashed in the back of his neck and shoulder in the East Village yesterday, in what police and witnesses are calling a random, unprovoked attack.

Witnesses described the brutal attack as completely unprovoked. Michael Picardi witnessed the incident and told ABC7, “Right before, nothing. Yeah, no altercation. Just exploded out of nowhere.” Another witness recounted the chaos, noting, “Normal. People having food inside, literally 30 seconds turn around, heard a commotion. Gentlemen was on the floor holding his neck, blood everywhere. Hunched over. Shirtless. Holding the back of his neck. Very big pool of blood.”
Following the attack, firefighters arrived to hose down the blood-stained sidewalk. The victim, despite his injuries, managed to use his own shirt to stem the bleeding from the grisly wound. After he was transported to the hospital, FDNY personnel returned to clean the area thoroughly.
As of now, the search for the suspect continues. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward to aid in the investigation.
