President Joe Biden is gearing up to host a White House event next week celebrating the 12th anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, an Obama-era directive that shields young illegal aliens from deportation. This event comes at a time when millions of legal American citizens are struggling to stay afloat amid economic uncertainty, high inflation, and, of course, a border crisis spiraling out of control. Biden’s decision to prioritize this celebration over addressing the needs of American citizens has sparked outrage and disbelief.

White House insiders reveal that officials are finalizing plans to use Biden’s executive powers to protect illegals from deportation and offer them work permits, easing their path toward permanent residency and American citizenship. This move, which could be announced as soon as next week, is raising alarms among those who believe Biden is putting the interests of illegals ahead of American citizens.

Biden still needs to approve the proposal, but the administration’s intentions are clear. During his recent announcement on border security, Biden hinted at forthcoming actions that would appease illegals’ rights advocates. “Today, I have spoken about what we need to do to secure the border,” Biden said on June 4. “In the weeks ahead — and I mean the weeks ahead — I will speak to how we can make our immigration system more fair and more just.”

The administration plans to use “parole-in-place,” a process that grants deportation protections and work permits to qualifying illegals and paves their way to permanent residency and citizenship. This controversial power has been previously used for U.S. military members or their family members who lack legal status. However, “parole-in-place” has proven ineffective and controversial, often failing to provide long-term solutions and leading to further legal and bureaucratic complications.

Data from Immigration Reform and statements from officials such as Sen. James Lankford indicate much lower compliance rates, with some reports suggesting that only 18-25% of released migrants show up for their court dates. This suggests that many individuals released without a Notice to Appear fail to report to ICE offices within the required timeframe, thus exacerbating the problem. In addition to this, advocates are pushing for benefits for illegals who provide caregiving roles for American family members. This would allow caregivers to apply for “cancellation of removal,” potentially aiding illegals to push through more family members on the tax-payers dime. The X account for Immigration Reform has several posts that highlight the gravity of our border situation:

While the administration plans these new benefits, Biden will celebrate the DACA program next Tuesday, a move that underscores his intent to double down on prioritizing the needs of illegals over the concerns of American citizens. This celebration, marking the initiative created by President Barack Obama on June 15, 2012, draws criticism from those who believe Biden’s policies are exacerbating the border crisis.

The crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border has reached unprecedented levels under President Biden’s administration. As of January 2024, over 7.2 million illegal border crossings have been recorded since Biden took office, surpassing the populations of 36 states. In April 2024 alone, there were 179,000 encounters at the Southwest border, with a nationwide total of over 247,000 encounters. Additionally, the Biden administration’s mass-amnesty policy has quietly dismissed numerous cases, further complicating enforcement efforts. This has led to a significant number of “gotaways,” with nearly 2 million known individuals evading capture by U.S. Border Patrol agents under the current administration. These policies have exacerbated the border crisis, causing widespread concern about national security and immigration enforcement.

With illegal border crossings hitting record highs, Biden’s focus on expanding protections and benefits for illegals demonstrates a clear disregard for the plight of American citizens and the sanctity of U.S. immigration laws. Meanwhile, millions of Americans are struggling with rising costs of living, stagnant wages, and economic instability. The absurdity of holding a grand celebration for DACA recipients while ignoring the struggles of law-abiding citizens highlights the administration’s misplaced priorities.
