Atlanta Judge Arrested For Assaulting Cop During Nightclub Brawl [VIDEOS]

The Atlanta Police Department has recently made public the body camera footage capturing the apprehension of Douglas County Probate Judge Christina Peterson, who now confronts severe allegations, including a felony charge.

The episode unfolded in the early hours of Thursday, outside the Red Martini Restaurant and Lounge in Buckhead, around 3:15 a.m. Peterson faces charges of felony obstruction of a police officer through threats or violence and simple battery against a police officer as per records from the Fulton County Jail.

The warrants disclosed that Peterson supposedly assaulted an officer with a closed fist during an investigation into a dispute at the lounge. Moreover, it was noted in the court documents that Peterson was not initially part of the altercation under scrutiny.

The Atlanta Police unveiled the video footage of the incident late Friday night, consisting of both a concise five-minute clip and an extended two-hour version.

In the condensed clip, the officers are seen approaching the Buckhead lounge, where a confrontation is ongoing. The footage captures a security guard separating individuals involved in the incident, while the officer attempts to calm the situation.

As tensions rise, Peterson intervenes, vehemently demanding the release of the woman involved in the dispute. Distinct verbal exchanges resonate in the video as the situation escalates, culminating in Peterson allegedly making physical contact with the officer.

Reportedly, there are moments in the footage where the scene becomes unclear, and Peterson is subsequently handcuffed. The video further chronicles Peterson’s refusal to cooperate with the officer’s requests for identification upon reaching the precinct.

Despite repeated inquiries for her personal information, Peterson dismisses the officer’s requests, asserting, “You can Google me and find me anywhere in America.”

The unfolding of events has raised significant concerns in the community, sparking debates regarding the conduct of public officials in instances of confrontation with law enforcement. Stay tuned for further updates as the investigation unfolds.
