Monrovia, California – A man was shot dead during what appears to be a case of self-defense. The incident occurred on Friday night at around 9:47 p.m. in a residence located in the 400 block of South Shamrock Avenue in Monrovia.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call reporting a possible violation of a restraining order. Upon arrival, officers discovered an Asian male with a gunshot wound. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to LASD, it is believed that the deceased Asian male arrived at the property armed with knives and attempted to stab a White male and White female who resided at the home. Investigators have determined that in response to the immediate threat, the female shot the individual, preventing him from advancing further toward her and the male resident.
Following the incident, both the female and male residents were questioned by deputies. However, no arrests were made. The exact relationship between the three individuals and the motive behind the Asian man’s presence on the property with weapons remains unclear.
