Amsterdam – International music sensation Nicki Minaj found herself in a legal tangle on Saturday, as she was reportedly arrested at an Amsterdam airport for allegedly carrying drugs. Despite vehemently denying any wrongdoing, Instagram Live footage shared by the “Super Bass” singer captured the incident, raising questions about the arrest.

The video showed an official stating that they intended to take the renowned rapper into custody for “carrying drugs.” However, Minaj, 41, insisted on having a lawyer present before proceeding further. The officer mentioned her scheduled concert in Manchester, England, that night and promised to facilitate her attendance as soon as possible.

During the tense encounter, Minaj repeatedly questioned whether she was under arrest, while authorities requested her to stop filming. In a subsequent video, the rapper was seen inside a vehicle discussing plans to search her bags with a uniformed man. She expressed her surprise that her bags were not searched prior to boarding the plane. The man explained that the previous officer didn’t believe Minaj’s claims and displayed annoyance at being filmed.

At the time of reporting, it remained unclear whether Minaj, currently on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, had gone through the formal booking process at a police station.

In a social media update, Minaj mentioned that the authorities allegedly found cannabis and informed her that another group of individuals needed to assess the weight of the pre-rolled joints. She also complained about her bags being taken without her consent, asserting that the pre-rolls belonged to her security team. Furthermore, she revealed that the pilot requested her to remove an Instagram post.

Minaj subsequently expressed frustration as her plane faced a delay of at least two hours due to the unfolding events. Her final update prior to 11 a.m. ET informed followers that the police were requesting her presence at a local precinct to provide a statement.

Meanwhile, Minaj’s dedicated fan base took to social media using the hashtag “#FREENICKI.” Supporters expressed disbelief and criticized the arrest, with graphic designer Nicholas Davison voicing his concerns about the situation in Amsterdam.

As the global music icon’s legal predicament unfolds, fans and followers await further updates, hoping for a swift resolution to the charges against Nicki Minaj.
